Where do I go tonight?
I’ve never been a big fan of baht bus advertising, especially if the advertisements happen to be sited inside the vehicle. It always appeared to me to be an expensive exercise with limited results, given the 600-700 baht buses on the road. After all, most budgets just would not be able to cover a number approaching a blanket coverage.
That said, as the picture with this story shows, baht bus advertising can be quite effective if your place of business is splashed prominently on the outside of the public transport vehicle.
I’ve noticed the Pattaya Beer Garden (behind the Siren beer boozer complex at the northern entrance to Walking Street), as well as Windmill Club go-go (Soi Diamond), has gone down the baht bus promotion route.
It’s not as if both these places aren’t well known and already have a strong, regular clientele. Yet that’s the primary reason for advertising and promotion: to remind those who haven’t been in for a drink for a while and, hopefully, to pick up a few new bums on seats.
By the way, I have absolutely no affiliation with the people who supply baht bus advertising.
