Sergio’s Pizza Factory
Not that negative, but more smiling staff would be nice
At Avenue Mall, you will find a treat.
Walking past Sergio’s, you will see that its just about the same as all indoor restaurants. More staff than guests. How this place is emty, is strange.
Coming from 2nd road, we are handed a coupon from Sergio’s, giving us a 30% discount. Seeing the THB currency is beating our own currency, we don’t say no for a good bargain. They have a few seatings outside, but we choose the airconditioned tables inside.
When you walk in, you have a full view of the kitchen. The entire right side of the restaurant is an open kitchen, so that you can follow the food. In the corner, you have the huge oven, that must have taken months to build. The venue is impressive.
The staff isnt the happiest people, but who can blame them. They are 3 servers and only 2 tables. After hour visit, we have peaked in only to find the same happening. Almost no tables.
We order 2 pizza and one Spaghetti Bolognese. Just to check out both pizza and a la carte.
The kitchen works fast, and withing 10 minutes we have everything in front of us. Crisp italian pizza with just the right amount of all the toppings. We dig in and are getting more happy than the staff. The fresh taste of the salami, mushrooms and cheese is amazing. Almost everywhere you go, you get a generic taste of “fastfood” pizza. But here, you can enjoy every bite. The salami has a little kick to it. You can taste the sweet and salty tomatosaus at every bite. And the bun is just the right amount of salt. The dough is also rolled out so that its not to thin to break, but you still dont get too much.
After the pizza, we both tried the bolognese. Here they have a little more to go on. Its was too sweet, but not a distinctive tomato-flavour. Too much garlic and not enough meet. But who cares, when the pizza was like it was.
It is a restaurant that targets tourist. So expect it to be a little higher than other pizza places. But it is well worth it. Maybe use a coupon like us?
